Christopher Michael Pratt (Chris Pratt) is an American film and television actor. He’s best known for the shows Everwood, Parks and Recreation, and the films Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World. Chris was born on June 21, 1979 in Virginia, Minnesota. His parents are Kathleen and Daniel. He has two older siblings, Angie and Cully. Pratt grew up in Lake Stevens, Washington, where he attended Lake Stevens High School. He experimented with wrestling as a teenager, placing fifth in the state tournament. He also worked briefly as a ticket salesman and later as a waiter in Maui, Hawaii.

Pratt made his film debut in the 2000 short film, Cursed Part 3. The film also marked the directorial debut for actress Rae Dawn Chong. Pratt was later cast as “Bright Abbott” in The WB drama series, Everwood. He appeared in 89 episodes from 2002 to 2006. He was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for his performance. Pratt followed up with the role of “Che Cook” in the season finale of The O.C. (2006-07). His next big television role was that of “Andy Dwyer” in the NBC series, Parks and Recreation. The show also stars Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones.
Pratt’s early film appearances include Wanted (2008) with James McAvoy and Angelinaa Jolie, Jennifer’s Body (2009) with Megan Fox, and Moneyball (2011) with Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill. He was cast as a Navy SEAL in Zero Dark Thirty (2012), and held a supporting role in Delivery Man (2013). He also plays a supporting role in the 2012 comedy film The Five-Year Engagement, which stars Jason Segel and Emily Blunt. Pratt voiced “Emmet Brickowski”, the main character in The Lego Movie (2014). He held the lead role as Peter Quill aka “Star-Lord” in the 2014 blockbuster, Guardians of the Galaxy. This role earned him a Saturn Award for Best Actor. Pratt later starred as “Owen Grady” in Jurassic World (2015), and as “Josh Farraday” in The Magnificent Seven (2016). Pratt’s second 2016 release was Passengers, a science fiction film which opened in December, and co-starred Jennifer Lawrence. Pratt played a character described as “a mechanic, who wants to get off an Earth that no longer seems to value a guy who works with his hands”. Then, Pratt reprised his role as Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which was released in May 2017. The film focuses on Quill’s and his team’s search for his father. Pratt also portrayed the character in Avengers: Infinity War, which was released in April 2018, and will reprise the role in Avengers: Endgame, which is set to be released on April 26, 2019.
On March 23, 2018, it was announced that Pratt would reprise his role as Emmet in The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part along with another character Rex Dangervest. In May, Pratt was confirmed to star in the western drama The Kid.
Pratt is set to appear as Duncan in the action film Cowboy Ninja Viking alongside Priyanka Chopra. Initially the movie was decided to be released in June 2019, however, on August 7, 2018, the film was pulled from the release list, nullifying the previous release date. In December 2018, Pratt signed on to the Pixar animated film Onward, alongside Avengers: Infinity War co-star Tom Holland.
It was announced that Chris Pratt was recently in talks to take a lead role in the upcoming action thriller Fast which “follows a former special forces commando, who’s recruited by the DEA to lead a black ops strike team targeting drug dealers who are protected by the CIA.” Shooting will begin on April 2019.

He married Anna Faris in 2009 and they had a son, Jack, in August of 2012. He and Anna announced their separation in August 2017. He began dating Katherine Schwarzenegger in July 2018.
